Tony - An Extraordinary Man & Architect

I’m inspired by the world within me and the world around me. I studied “The Complete Printmaker” by Ross and Romano. I first combined photography with water-based screen painting in my development, which led to my passion for mono-printing with oil paints. I first roll a base color onto the paper and then draw the image on plate glass. I discovered outlining my drawing with string, twine, and fabrics results in layers of colors and unique textures. This technique expresses my feelings in a much stronger way. My prints have a design consciousness that originates from my experience as an architect. I have been greatly influenced by traveling through Europe and love stained glass windows and medieval paintings. I like to think the colors in my monoprints have the intensity of stained glass. After running my image through the printing press, sometimes I know immediately I have created something special when I pull the paper off the plate, and it thrills me.
